HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO ENTER?
All drivers need to be over 16 years old on race day. Any team members under the age of 18 will need written permission from their parents or legal guardians.
IS THERE A MAXIMUM WEIGHT FOR MY BOX CART?
Yes, the maximum weight for each Box Cart without the driver is 100kg.

CAN MY BOX CART HAVE PEDALS?
No, push power is where it’s at, baby!
WILL WE BE ABLE TO PUSH AT THE START?
Yes, there will be a short distance at the start, which will allow you to “kick start” your Box Cart.
ARE YOU ALLOWED TO PUT A SMALL ENGINE OR MOTOR IN THE BOX CART?
Nope. All Box Carts have to be completely gravity-powered. Your team mates, however, will be able to help you with push start.
DOES MY BOX CART HAVE TO LOOK LIKE A RACING CAR?
No, your Box Cart can be as wild as you want it to be. We’ve seen everything from giant pizza slices to washing machines, trains and even racing ovens!
IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE?
Entering is one hundred percent mahala.
WHEN DO ENTRIES CLOSE?
Entries are now closed
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I HAVE IN MY TEAM?
Each team may have a maximum of four members on the day. That’s one Driver and three Pit Crew. You may have as many people as you want building your Box Cart but you will need to choose four to represent the team on the day.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE IN THE BOX CART WHILE IT’S RACING?
The Box Cart can only have one driver during the race. No overloading!
IS THERE A PRACTICE RUN?
No, there is only one run and that's the actual race. All competitors will still get a chance to check out the course on the day of the race.
CAN I HAVE SPONSORS BRANDING ON MY BOX CART?
Yes (conditions apply)
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY BOX CART AFTER I HAVE RACED IT TO FAME AND GLORY?
Our pit crew will salvage it as carefully as possible and you're free to take it home to hang on the wall after the cheering fans leave the venue. Otherwise, we'll hang it on our wall!
WILL I NEED TO BRING MY FIRST AID/ SAFETY EQUIPMENT?
No, we'll provide the best of the best in safety and medical staff, marshals and more than 3000 hay bales to make the course as safe as possible.
HOW AND WHEN WILL YOU SELECT THE FINAL 55 TEAMS?
An internal panel of seven judges from different fields will go through a very detailed analysis of all entries. Entrants will be notified by the 8th July 2010.
